Please Note that the Knit Projects & Beanie Babies Collection for the troops has ended.

Thank you for the overwhelming donations to this program. We were astounded by the generosity - it far exceeded anything we expected. We are still in the process of sending items out. Once they are shipped we will publish a final update.

Again, thank you VERY much!

Million Pillowcase Challenge

Make A Pillowcase, Make A Difference.

The Fabric Garden is proudly participating in
American Patchwork & Quilting's One Million Pillowcase Challenge!

PROGRAM HAS BEEN
EXTENDED INTO 2012!
Please keep the pillowcases coming!

The program goal is 1 Million Pillowcases nationwide.

Throughout 2011 and continuing through 2012, we challenge and encourage you to make as many pillowcases as you can for those who would be comforted by a nice, home-sewn pillowcase.

We are an official drop-off spot, and will be dividing the pillowcases received amongst local organizations and agencies. A homemade pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, beauty for a nursing home resident, a bit of thanks for those in our VA hospitals, and so on...

Each time we receive a supply of pillowcases, we log it into the rolling counter online at allpeoplequilt.com/millionpillowcases.

Let's get together with the rest of the country to make a million pillowcases, and make a difference in a million people's lives.

Here are some FREE downloadable
Pillowcase Patterns to get you started!

Drop off your completed pillowcases at The Fabric Garden and we will add them to the national tally, and donate to agencies and organizations in our local community.

Pillowcases

Just some of the first wave of donations, in early 2010.

These lovely pillowcases have touched and enriched so many lives in our area.

By taking the time and making the effort to sew and donate these pillowcases, you have put a smile on people's faces who could really use one.

Thank you to the individuals, and to the many groups of caring people who so lovingly sewed and donated.

Please keep them coming. There are more people who could use some love and a smile.

VA Letter

A very nice thank you letter from Togus Veterans Administration Medical Center:

"On behalf of the Togus patients and staff, we would like to extend our appreciation to you for your donation of handmade pillowcases. These items will be distributed to our veteran inpatients. Our veterans sincerely appreciate the personal touch of handmade articles which help to make them feel more at home. Your thoughtfulness reflects the concern that you feel for our veterans and for the service they provided to all of us while in service to our country. Without your support, we could not provide for the smaller niceties that make hospitalization more bearable. The commitment you have shown to our patients demonstrates your sense of patriotism towards our veterans. Thank you for your continued support.”

Project Linus

Become a “Blanketeer”

Project Linus volunteers, known as “blanketeers,” provide new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill and traumatized children, ages 0-18. It is Project Linus’ policy to accept blankets of all sizes, depending on local chapter needs. All blanket styles are welcome, including quilts, tied comforters, fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets in child-friendly colors. Always remember that blankets must be homemade, washable, free of pins, and come from smoke-free environments due to allergy reasons.

The Fabric Garden is honored to be an official drop-off point for Project Linus Blankets.
